Alex Acosta Memorial Scholarship

Alex AcostaThe Alex Acosta Memorial Scholarship

The Scholarship was created to continue the legacy of Alex Acosta, Jr., the son of Alex and Deanna Acosta and brother to Nicole Acosta.

Alex Acosta, Jr. lost his life at 23 years of age. Alex was very active in soccer throughout his life and was on his way to accomplishing his lifetime dream of becoming a fireman with the Phoenix Fire Department.

This scholarship was established to help others achieve their dreams and goals and discover their life’s purpose while pursuing their continued educational goals from a university.

Alex’s parents would like to encourage students to always remember their faith, work diligently toward their purpose, and finish with honor.

To qualify, the applicant must be a university undergraduate, traditional ground campus student taking at least 12 hours per semester.

Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be determined by the LEO Foundation Committee. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2023 for the 2024/2025 academic year. Scholarship recipients must acknowledge their award in the form of an email thank you within three weeks of notification to mwinney@leofoundationusa.org.4
