Foster Youth Scholarships
Scholarship Amount: Varies depending on available funds and needs.
Students may receive their first funding any time before their 23rd birthday. Students who are in good standing and progressing towards earning a degree will remain eligible for funding until their 26th birthday or 23rd birthday for Tuition Waiver.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen or a qualified non-citizen;
Must be an Arizona resident;
Must be in state care at age 17 and enrolled in the Volunteer Foster Care Program Agreement at 18 years of age;
Must have an open case with the Arizona Department of Child Safety (or equivalent);
Must have accessed ETV funding less than the 5-year limit (consecutive or intermittent);
Must display a dedication to community service, entrepreneurship and academic excellence;
Must complete the FAFSA and Education Tuition Voucher documents;
Must adhere to any additional rules and guidelines specified by the Arizona Department of Child Safety;
Must provide a Student Information Release Form (SIRF) to the State of Arizona’s Department of Child Safety;
Must attend an Arizona public college or university;
Must be a university undergraduate, traditional ground campus student taking at least 12 hours per semester.
Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be determined by the LEO Foundation Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2023 for the 2023/2024 academic year. Scholarship recipients must acknowledge their award in the form of an email thank you within three weeks of notification to mwinney@leofoundationusa.org.
