JOYCE K. SMITH NURSING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to deserving students pursuing an academic degree in Nursing.

Joyce Smith was born in 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the 4th of 7 children. Joyce enjoyed traveling and lived in Texas before eventually calling Arizona her “home.”

Joyce had a great love for God, fishing, southwest artwork, and nursing. She loved helping others and was the inspiration for her niece, Donna, who also became a nurse.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Meet a university’s admissions requirements
  • Must be pursuing an academic degree in Nursing
  • Applicants shall demonstrate documented financial needs as defined by their university’s office of financial aid
  • Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA
  • Applicant must be an in-state, traditional ground student

Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be determined by the LEO Foundation Scholarship Committee.

Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2024 for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Scholarship recipients must acknowledge their award in the form of an email thank you within three weeks of notification to mwinney@leofoundationusa.org
